Oof! It's such a long story of this 7" reissue - at first we know about this tune from Egon's "True Soul" compilation - that midtempo instrumental with flute was awesome! We was tryin to find the original 7", it seems not only us, because prices on ebay was $1000+ It wasn't affordable, but anyway it was in our wantlist. On summer of 2018 we was tryin to find a copy again, and we got an idea - to find someone of the band to ask about old stock copies! The first person indicated on original vinyl paper-labels was Donell Edwards - we found him online in one day! He still lives in Little Rock, Arkansas and he was very kind to allow us to reissue this old 7" and even found a mint original copy for us!!! Accidentally copy was lost by post and was returned back to sender in 4 months! Then it was sent back to us again and we got a copy on late 2018, then it was a quest to find restoration engineer who can get the sound from the original 7". Our friends recommended us a profi, we bring him the record to Moscow and then profi disappeared with the original vinyl! In a few month he showed up back with the result - record was cleaned on ultrasonic cleaner and digitalized on hi-end needle. Then it was cleaned from occasional clicks but we found it has hiss anyway, it seems this hiss exist on every original copy and it seems it's because in 1971 laquer disc was cutted with worn-out stereo cutting head.. If you have original copy - we can compare the hiss with what we got! So when we found that hiss - the recording was sent to few sound-engineers to clean it. Noone could do it good.. At the end we asked our big friend Igor Zhukovsky - the leader/drummer/sound-engineer of @thesoulsurfers He did exaclty what we need in 15 minutes! It was the august of 2019. In the winter of 2020 we recieved the testpresses - everyhting was fine! We confirmed the order to the record-pressing plant aaaand.... in few days they told us that one side stamper was scratched accidentally... so it means - recutting the laquer and reordering the stamper.. but then corona came! Tadaaaam.......
